Coast
The Coast smithing template shipped with 1.20 "Trails & Tales" and uses a flowing wave pattern that wraps the shoulders and waist. It reads as nautical at every angle — captain-of-a-galleon energy.
Coast drops from Shipwreck treasure chests at roughly a 16.7% chance per chest, which is one of the highest rates in the game. Sail (or dolphin-grace) between five or six shipwrecks and you should have a copy in hand. Each shipwreck has at most one treasure chest, so check the bow/stern compartments carefully.
Pairs beautifully with Diamond + Amethyst (the "Coast Diver" combo), Iron + Lapis for a sailor look, or Gold + Copper for a sun-bleached pirate vibe.
Armor trims are cosmetic only — no change to stats, durability or enchantments.

×2How to get the Coast trim
Coast sits in the treasure chest of a shipwreck, and only that one. A shipwreck can hold up to three chests — a map chest in the bow, a supply chest amidships, and the treasure chest in the stern. Only the stern chest rolls trims, so a wreck whose tail is buried or missing is a wreck you can skip.
At 16.7% this is one of the friendliest trims in the game, and shipwrecks generate in every ocean and on beaches, which makes Coast a realistic first template in a brand-new world.
Route tip Travel by boat along a coastline rather than swimming an open ocean — beached wrecks are visible from the surface and need no diving at all. For submerged ones, carry doors or a bucket for air pockets; a dolphin nearby gives you Dolphin's Grace and roughly doubles travel speed.
