Sentry
The Sentry smithing template is an angular guard-style emblem that anchors at the chest and repeats on the helmet. It feels institutional — castle guards, town watch, palace garrison.
Drops from the top-floor chest of pillager outposts at a generous 25% per chest — the highest drop rate of any trim in the game. Locate outposts via exploration, climb the tower, fight off the patrols, and crack the chest. Three or four outposts on average will yield a Sentry template.
Best on Iron + Quartz for that classic palace-guard look, Diamond + Gold for royal ceremonial fits, or Netherite + Emerald for a darker, militarised feel.
Armor trims are cosmetic only — no change to stats, durability or enchantments.

×2How to get the Sentry trim
Sentry is the easiest trim in the game to farm at 25%, and it is in exactly one place: the chest on the top floor of a pillager outpost tower. There is no second chest to check and no hidden room — climb, clear, loot, leave.
Outposts generate in the same biomes as villages and are visible from a long way off, which makes a Sentry run one of the shortest trim trips available. Three outposts is the median.
Route tip The tower is the fight, not the climb. Pillagers on the upper floors shoot down the stairwell, so break in through a wall one floor below the top instead of walking up. Watch for the captain — killing him gives Bad Omen, which is a problem if you walk into a village afterwards but exactly what you want if Flow is your next target.
