Flow
The Flow smithing template debuted with 1.21 alongside Bolt. It traces a smooth curving wave across the armor — softer and more organic than Coast's sharper crests.
Flow only drops from Ominous Vaults inside Trial Chambers. Ominous Vaults need Ominous Trial Keys, earned by clearing Ominous Trial Spawners after drinking an Ominous Bottle. The complete reward table gives a 22.5% chance per Ominous Vault; three openings is the median.
Pairs beautifully with Diamond + Quartz ("Pure Flow") for a clean white-on-blue ocean look, Netherite + Amethyst for moody purple highlights, or Iron + Lapis for affordable elegance.
Armor trims are cosmetic only — no change to stats, durability or enchantments.

×2How to get the Flow trim
Flow only drops from Ominous Vaults — the copper-and-blue variant inside Trial Chambers. They do not accept ordinary Trial Keys; you need Ominous Trial Keys, earned from Ominous Trial Spawners after drinking an Ominous Bottle.
The full reward chain is 75% for the ominous unique pool multiplied by Flow's 3/10 weight inside it: 22.5% per Ominous Vault. Three openings is the median; the harder part is earning each key.
Route tip Ominous waves add extra mobs and a spawner buff, so bring a shield, ranged damage and blocks to break line of sight. Milk cancels Bad Omen if a run goes wrong, but drink it outside the chamber — the effect is what makes the Vaults spawn Ominous in the first place.
