Tide
The Tide smithing template uses a flowing diagonal wave pattern reminiscent of stylised currents. It's the only trim earned by killing a specific mob — the rest live in chests or suspicious gravel.
Drops at 3% per Elder Guardian kill. Ocean Monuments contain three Elder Guardians (one in the central room, two in the side wings); you can drain or just dive in with potions of Water Breathing, Night Vision, and Mining Fatigue resistance. A monument-clearing run yields three guaranteed Elder Guardian fights — expect to clear five or six monuments on average for a single Tide template.
Pairs perfectly with Diamond + Lapis ("Tide Walker") for an aquatic look, Netherite + Amethyst for moody deep-sea, or Iron + Quartz for ghost-of-the-deep contrast.
Armor trims are cosmetic only — no change to stats, durability or enchantments.

×2How to get the Tide trim
Tide is the only trim in the game that is not looted from a chest or brushed from gravel — it drops directly from Elder Guardians at 3% per kill.
Every Ocean Monument contains exactly three Elder Guardians: one in the top central room and one in each side wing. At 23 kills for the median that is roughly eight monuments, and 76 kills — around 25 monuments — to cover nine players in ten. They do not respawn, so each monument is spent once and you move on.
Route tip Mining Fatigue is the real obstacle, not the damage. Drink milk immediately after each Elder Guardian spots you, or the effect stops you breaking blocks for five minutes. Bring Water Breathing, Night Vision, and Depth Strider or a conduit; Aqua Affinity on the helmet matters more than raw armor here.
