Vex
The Vex smithing template uses a swirling, almost spectral motif that wraps the helmet and chestplate. The name fits — it looks like the vex mob it is named after, ghostly and unsettled.
Drops from Woodland Mansion chests at 50% per chest. The per-chest chance is high, but mansions are rare and not every room contains loot, so buy a woodland explorer map and inspect hidden rooms rather than assuming every floor is chest-rich.
Pairs ominously with Netherite + Redstone ("Crimson Vex"), Netherite + Amethyst for a wraith look, or Diamond + Quartz for a ghostly pale variant.
Armor trims are cosmetic only — no change to stats, durability or enchantments.

Vex comes from woodland mansion chests at 50% per chest. The roll is friendly; locating a mansion and finding its relatively sparse or hidden loot chests is the real cost.
One chest is the median and four covers nine players in ten. Search hidden rooms and use a woodland explorer map rather than expecting every visible room to contain a chest.
Route tip Buy a woodland explorer map from a cartographer villager — it is by a wide margin the fastest way to locate a mansion. Inside, the danger is the vindicators and the evokers that summon the vexes this trim is named after; fight in doorways so only one can reach you, and bring a shield for the axes.

Bedrock Edition
On Bedrock, use a smithing table — the /give command for trims is limited. After running:
