Rib
The Rib smithing template uses a clear ribcage motif on the chestplate, with bony curves wrapping the shoulders. It's one of the most overtly menacing trims — feels at home on Wither-skull builds and skeleton-themed PvP fits.
Drops from Nether Fortress chests at 6.7% per chest. Each fortress has a handful of corridor and barracks chests — scout through with a Fire Resistance potion and check them all. Two or three fortresses' worth of looting usually surfaces a copy.
Best on Netherite + Diamond for the iconic blue-on-black skeletal look, Iron + Quartz for bone-white contrast, or Diamond + Redstone if you want a "bleeding rib" effect.
Armor trims are cosmetic only — no change to stats, durability or enchantments.

×2How to get the Rib trim
Rib is in Nether Fortress chests — the ones tucked into stairwell landings, corridor dead-ends and the small barracks rooms off the main bridges. A fortress usually holds between four and ten of them, so one thorough fortress is a meaningful dent in the ten-chest median.
The chests are spread across the structure rather than clustered, which makes Rib a matter of mapping the fortress properly instead of finding one room.
Route tip Fire Resistance turns the trip from dangerous to routine — blazes and ghasts are the only real threats and both are fire. Bridge with cobblestone rather than netherrack so stray ghast fireballs cannot set your path alight, and light the corridors as you go to stop wither skeletons spawning behind you.
