Silence
The Silence smithing template is the most prized trim in the game โ its pattern echoes the Warden's silhouette and the deep-dark biome's sculk veins. Wearing a full Silence set is the Minecraft equivalent of a status flex.
Drops from Ancient City chests in cold biomes only at a brutal 1.7% per chest. You'll need to find Ancient Cities under cold-biome surface (frozen ocean, snowy plains, snowy taiga), then loot every chest while dodging the Warden. Most players take dozens of Ancient City runs to get a copy. Pillar to the ceiling, place wool to dampen vibrations, and pull chests one-by-one.
The combo nobody can argue with: Netherite + Amethyst ("Void Royal") โ purple shimmer on pitch-black armor. Also stunning with Diamond + Quartz for ghostly white-on-blue, or Iron + Lapis for a Warden-esque deep blue.
Armor trims are cosmetic only โ no change to stats, durability or enchantments.

How to get the Silence trim
Silence is the rarest trim in Minecraft at roughly 1.7% per chest, and it comes only from Ancient City chests in the Deep Dark. Deep Dark generates below y=0 under mountainous and highland terrain, so it is found by tunnelling rather than by surface exploration.
A city holds a good number of chests spread across its wings, but 41 chests is the median and 135 covers nine players in ten. Realistically that is several full cities. There is no faster source โ every Silence set you have ever seen represents this grind.
Route tip Wool is the whole strategy. Sculk sensors trigger on vibration, and a wool floor absorbs it โ lay wool as you move and the Warden never spawns. Never sprint, never break a sculk shrieker, and carry a bucket of milk for Darkness. If a Warden does surface, pillar straight up: it cannot follow and loses interest.

Each material gives a different color tint. Try them all live in the 3D editor:
Java /give command
/give @s minecraft:netherite_chestplate[trim={pattern:"silence",material:"diamond"}] 1
Bedrock Edition
On Bedrock, use a smithing table โ the /give command for trims is limited. After running:
/give @s netherite_chestplate
Apply the Silence template at a smithing table with diamond (or any other material) as the third ingredient.
